I’ve been spending my time between working on an outdoor project, playing video games with my husband while he’s on vacation, and occasionally sitting down to write. I made a lot more progress this month than I expected to, and I’m happy to report that I finished revising Chapter 3 of BLOOD OF SALT, TEARS OF PEARL, and started on revisions for Chapter 4. It’s a slow process, but I’m really proud of the progress I’ve made.
Word Counts in July:
Cartridges & Catacombs: 1001
BLOOD OF SALT, TEARS OF PEARL: Finished revising 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, & 4.1
Total Words Written in June: 3,697
Total Words Written in 2021: 38,736
Plans for August:
I still have a lot to do on our outdoor project this month (we’re cleaning, sanding, and restaining our deck, and building an outdoor kitchen on it), and this week, the weather is actually nice enough to spend more time outside working on it. We’re hoping to get a lot of progress done by this weekend, and hopefully, we’ll be finished with the hardest parts by next week. That said, once the weather heats up, I’ll be spending more time inside, which means I may be able to get some more revisions done on my novel.
Kiddo starts back up at school in a couple of weeks (COVID willing), and so I’ll have a bit more time and space to think through things, and hopefully make more progress on the novel. I don’t have a definitive goal in mind for this month, so any progress will be a good thing!
Otherwise, I have some blog posts I want to write up for my gaming blog that I’ve been noodling on, and I have my D&D campaign to work on. Our group just entered the forest labyrinth of a green dragon’s lair, and I’m excited about the encounters I have planned leading up to the dragon.
