Last month, I attempted to write 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo, using the month to jumpstart a new draft of The Wizard’s Heart, now titled Written in the Sands and Stars. I managed to stay on pace until the election happened, and I sort of lost my momentum after that. I ended up writing a little over 30,000 words though, so all in all, I consider the month a success. If I can keep up a 30,000 words per month pace, I should have the draft finished by the end of January.
Total word count for the month:
Written in the Sands and Stars – 30,760
Dark Lord in Training – 926
Blog posts – 1750
Other – 323
Total in November: 33,759
Total for 2016: 340,512
Upcoming Events
I will be at Barnes & Noble in Rogers, AR December 23, from 4pm-8pm, signing copies of The Brass Giant and The Guild Conspiracy.
Plans for December…
I would like to add another 30,000 words to the Written in the Sands and Stars draft so that I can stay on schedule to finish it in January. I would also like to get back on board with Dark Lord in Training, which also suffered from the election. If I can post at least two new chapters before the end of the year, that would be great. I know my readers are antsy for more; it’s just been a difficult month all around.
