November was another light month for me with planning Ozark Book Con (and the needed rest time after), but I did manage to write a little bit before Thanksgiving break. I started a new gaming blog, Cartridges and Catacombs, that I’m excited to continue to write for into 2020. There’s not much there right now, but I hope to find a nice groove for updating content on a regular basis.
BLOOD OF SALT, TEARS OF PEARL saw a little progress this month, though a lot less than I would have hoped. I spent a lot of time revising my outline for the last part of the book, trying to pull all the threads together with the unplanned changes I’ve made while writing the book. The book is up to 220,010 words total. Hopefully, I’m able to finish this month.
Word Counts in November:
Cartridges & Catacombs: 5883
BLOOD OF SALT, TEARS OF PEARL: 6341
Total Words Written in August: 13,074
Total Words Written in 2019: 275,128
Plans for December:
I’m planning on jumping back into writing tomorrow, with the intention of finishing BLOOD OF SALT, TEARS OF PEARL before the end of the year. I’m not sure how many words I have left to write. It could be anywhere between 20,000 and 50,000 words. It just depends on what is required to tell the story to its end. I still can’t get over how long this book is already, but for now, it’s as long as it needs to be to tell the story the way it needs to be told. I should be able to trim some of it down in the next draft. Fingers crossed that I’m able to finish it this month, however many words I have to write to do it.
No new posts on Patreon this month, and it’s clear to me that I need to rethink the Patreon format and my tier rewards for next year. I may spend December figuring that out, and we’ll see where it goes.
