Here we are at the end of the year, at last. November went well for me, though I, once again, did not win NaNoWriMo (and did not expect to). I made good progress on Draft 4 of REBEL ENGINEER, and I managed to write every single day of the month, which was difficult, but I did it. (And I am now happy to go back to leaving my weekends and evenings free, thank goodness.) Funnily enough, last year, I wrote a blog post that I would never attempt NaNoWriMo again, which you can read here. Somehow, I forgot about that and tried again this year. Oh well. I’ll probably do it again next year, if I have something that will fit, or I might not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, I am really proud of where I’m at with REBEL ENGINEER now, and I feel like it is closer than ever to the book it was always meant to be. I’ve learned a lot more about Emmerich and his family in this iteration of the book, and I feel like it adds more depth that was missing in the first few drafts. I’m really looking forward to sending this one to beta-readers when I’m finished, and then onward to publication, when the time comes. I can’t wait for you guys to read it!
In other exciting news, I’m up to 7 patrons on Patreon! I’m so grateful for those of you who have decided to support me there, but I don’t just appreciate the monetary support I’ve received. Every single one of you who has reached out to me, in person or online, to tell me how much you love my books or can’t wait to read the next one; every person who follows me on social media; every single one of you who buys my books, leaves reviews, or tells others about my work, you mean the world to me! And I am so grateful for you guys, no matter how you choose to support me. I’m so honored to have you as fans. 💖

Plans for December:
After a nice break this weekend, post-NaNoWriMo, I plan to dive back into Draft 4 of REBEL ENGINEER and try to get as much written on that as I can before the winter break. I’m hoping to finish the draft before the end of the year, and I think it is possible, but I might run into a snag that lengthens the amount of time it will take. We’ll see.
Other than that, you can look forward to more content on my Patreon this month, and sometime toward the middle/end of December, I’ll do a write-up of my writing/publication goals for 2019, and a look back at 2018 (which was a very long, difficult year for me, all said).
Whether you celebrate Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, the Winter Solstice, or something else this month (I see you Festivus people), I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and get to spend some quality time with your loved ones. Much love to all of you!
