April was a relatively slow month for writing, but good news! I finished the first draft of REBEL ENGINEER at 48,395 words (about 13,395 words over my original target word count and two months later than I wanted to be done with it, but c’est la vie.)
April Word Counts:
REBEL ENGINEER: 7605
Untitled Epic Fantasy: ~550 (2 1/2 journal pages)
DARK LORD IN TRAINING: 12
Blog posts: 810
Short stories: 600
Total Words Written in April: 9,577
(Total for 2017 so far: 70,756)
Plans for May:
I’m taking a few weeks off to recharge my creative batteries and focus on arts and crafts for a while. I have a few Renaissance Faire costumes to make, some scrapbooking to do, and I’m making an effort to do more drawings in my spare time. Depending on how long the recharge period takes, I may or may not start plotting the next book in the Chroniker City series by the end of the month. We’ll see.
DARK LORD IN TRAINING is still on my writing to-do list, despite not updating for several months now. It’s my back-burner project, but I’m kinda out of fuel, so I don’t know when I will manage to write another chapter, but it’s definitely still something I want to continue. I’m just waiting on the motivation to tackle it properly.
I will be attending ConQuesT 48 in Kansas City, MO at the end of the month, May 26-28. I don’t yet have my panel schedule for that, but I will be sure to update you guys when I do.
I’m also going to try to get another book signing at the Rogers, AR Barnes & Noble scheduled this month, but depending on their store schedule, that may have to wait until June.
