Holy carp, it’s November already.
October seemed to fly by really fast, but I got a lot of work done on REBEL ENGINEER, so that’s nice. I finished my new revision outline, so now I’m ready to start on the next draft. I’ve also been posting pretty regularly on Patreon (I’ve added some new reward tiers if you haven’t been there in a while!). All in all, a pretty solid month.
October Word Counts:
Blog posts: 446
REBEL ENGINEER: 5568
Total Words for October: 8351
Total Words for 2018: 73,798
Plans for November:
I’ll be implementing revisions for REBEL ENGINEER, counting my progress toward NaNoWriMo since it will be a pretty thorough rewrite. I’m aiming for at least 50,000 words for the novel, so it works out well as a NaNoWriMo goal. If I can finish the next draft by the end of November, that will be fab. Then I can send it off to a second round of beta-readers in December and start working on something else while I wait to hear back.
And for the first time in a really long while, I actually feel excited about writing. Not just for REBEL ENGINEER, but for whatever comes after. Writing no longer feels like an obligation I have to fulfill, which has been my operating state for a few years now, and a lot of that is tied into my issues with depression. Now that I’m out of that sinkhole (thank you modern medicine and to my therapist), I feel more creative than ever, and my only gripe is that I don’t write books as fast as I can think up new ideas. Sometimes, I feel like my brain is going to burst there’s so much going on. I’m riding a really great high right now, and I feel like anything and everything is possible if I just try hard enough. It’s a really good feeling, and I aim to make it last as long as possible and make the best of it while I can.
