How on Earth is it already November?! Where did the year go?
October was a very light month for writing for me, with event planning taking up most of my time. I did manage a little bit here and there, though, way more than I expected to, so I’m happy with that. BLOOD OF SALT, TEARS OF PEARL is up to 213,669 words total. I revised a subplot that was too tangential and cut about 3000 words before adding another 1200 back in to polish that story thread, and, in the middle of writing a scene, I had an epiphany that caused me to revise my outline a bit, dropping a handful of scenes that I now no longer need to write. So the word count may be lower than usual for the month, but I did some big work, despite the few days I managed to write.
Word Counts in October:
BLOOD OF SALT, TEARS OF PEARL: 10,082
Total Words Written in August: 10,891
Total Words Written in 2019: 262,054
Plans for November:
Ozark Book Con is right around the corner (literally this coming Saturday) and I am up to my eyeballs in planning and finalizing things for that. I may take a few days off after that wraps up, just to put my feet up for a little while, and then dive back into writing with the goal to finish the first draft of BLOOD OF SALT, TEARS OF PEARL this month. I still need to polish a few details in my outline, but with the changes that I made in October, I’m anticipating a slightly shorter draft. If I can manage a decent word count, I should be able to finish the draft, if not get very very close.
I decided not to charge for the month of October as I catch up on other things. Hoping to continue content this month.
