Just a quick update this month!
I will be at Geek the Library November 19th, from 10:00am – 4:30pm at Rogers Public Library, signing and selling copies of my books, and I’ll be talking about what it takes to write a novel to anyone interested. I will have candy. If nothing else, come for the candy.
Onto the writing updates…
Words Worded in October
I divided October between sewing costumes for the Kansas City Renaissance Festival and writing, so I did a lot less than I wanted, but still made some progress on a few things. One of my goals for the month was to finish a revision outline for THE WIZARD’S HEART (title change pending), and I got partway into that, but less that I would have liked.
So, the rundown…
TOTAL WORDS FOR OCTOBER: 13,414
blog posts: 2,153
Dark Lord in Training: 1,437
The Wizard’s Heart: 9,824
4047 written on part of an outline
~5750 words (23 pages) of notes on world-building
4 chapters of revision notes
TOTAL WORDS WORDED IN 2016 SO FAR: 306,753
Plans for November…
This month, I want to revise 50,000 words of THE WIZARD’S HEART for NaNoWriMo. I’m hopeful. However, I still need to read and annotate the rest of the book, and I don’t know if I should try to finish that first, before I start the rewrite, or go ahead and start the rewrite, notating later chapters as I need to. I’m thinking the former, but that means I’ll have a lot of words to make up in the latter half of the month. Oh well.
I also plan to continue working on DARK LORD IN TRAINING, with a commitment to write for a dedicated 20-30 minutes every night, so that I can get back to posting regularly on Wattpad. It’s been too easy to let that story slide, and that’s the last thing I want to do right now.
