August was a heck of a month. I finished the second draft of REBEL ENGINEER and sent the proposal for that off to my publisher, which was my goal. I forgot how much I hate writing synopses.
August Word Counts:
Blog posts: 365
Book reviews: 215
Epic Fantasy: ~1,500 (6.5 pages brainstorming)
REBEL ENGINEER: 1,570 words (synopsis, pitch material); edited 48,500 words
Total Words for August: 3,650
Total Words for 2017: 92,717
Plans for September:
Now that REBEL ENGINEER is finished, I have two options ahead of me: I could continue working on DARK LORD IN TRAINING (and maybe finish it), or start writing THE MERMAID & THE BEAST.
I’ve neglected DARK LORD IN TRAINING since November 2016 (sorry, readers) and would very much like to finish that and get it all posted to Wattpad before it inadvertently gets abandoned forever, and I think it would be a good, light project for me to take on after the stress of REBEL ENGINEER.
As for THE MERMAID & THE BEAST, I’m seriously considering tackling it during NaNoWriMo this year. I’ve never won NaNoWriMo before, but that’s never stopped me from trying. Besides, I’m not sure I want to dive straight into it just yet, right on the heels of REBEL ENGINEER. Waiting until NaNoWriMo will give me time to detox between books and let me start refreshed and excited, rather than because I feel like I need to be working on something.
Either way, it’ll be nice to start drafting something again!
September 23: I will be at the Rogers, AR Barnes & Noble for their Teen Book Festival, from 12:00 – 5:00 pm.
